Charlie spent 47 years in the MH Industry starting as working in a Knoxville Tennessee Clayton plant working on floors in 1974. From there he quickly flourished in the company quickly working his way up through positions. He transferred Clayton plants till settling into his plant at Bean Station Tennessee and retired in 2021. Hemphill always strived for the utmost quality in homes. He achieved an all time high employee engagement score at 74% at his Bean Station plant, along with an all time high net promoter score of 73%. Hemphill was involved in numerous industry foundations including MHARR, RVIA, RVDA, RVAA and MHI and spent 18 years as Grainger County united way chairman.

Samuel is the President and CEO of UMH Properties, a New York Stock Exchange listed real estate investment trust which provides much needed affordable manufactured housing. As president and CEO of the company for more than two decades, Landy directs management, acquisition, construction, and development of manufactured home communities. Since 2009, UMH has grown from 28 communities and 6,800 home sites to 135 communities consisting of 25,800 sites. UMH’s investment in these communities has turned them into first class communities at affordable rates that tenants are proud to call home. During the same time, Mr. Landy adapted to changing financing conditions and implemented a rental home strategy, growing UMH’s portfolio of rental homes to approximately 10,000 units. Under his leadership, UMH also invests in the expansion of their existing communities. He has worked with MHI, legislators, investors and the GSE’s to obtain acceptance and quality financing on rental units in manufactured housing communities. Additionally, UMH has begun construction of new communities through a joint venture with Nuveen real estate. A leader in the manufactured housing industry, Landy received the 2019 Manufactured Housing Institute’s Chairman’s Award for exceptional leadership.
Mr. Landy is a graduate of Curry College and a graduate of Widener University School of Law. Sam received an Honorary Doctorate Degree at the Curry College Commencement Ceremony in May 2023. Sam and his wife Laurie Landy have been married since November 7, 1987. Together with Sam’s father Eugene (RV/MH Hall of Fame Class of 2022), their sons Jeremy, Harry, and Daniel, and the entire UMH team, UMH has sold over 5,700 homes, rented 10,100 homes and grown to a total market capitalization of over $2.25 billion.

50 years ago, Kamal founded what would become The Choice Group, a highly successful real estate development and management company, specializing and creating beautiful manufactured home communities. Born and raised in Lebanon, Kamal attended Michigan tech to study civil engineering. He decided to settle in and make the Michigan city of Troy his adopted home where he continued to reside with his wife Yasmin and sons Rob and Omar, who work in the business. The Choice Group and its affiliates have over 75 employees and a portfolio valued above $150 million. Kamal has nurtured, educated and led his children to take over their own diverse real estate holdings. He has taken great care of his family in both the USA and Lebanon, logistics that are only accomplished with a big loving heart.

In 1995 Nathan Smith and Kurt Keeney founded SSK a single community organization in Kentucky that has become the publicly traded Flagship Community with nearly 70 properties across Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia. One of Nathan‘s most important contributions has been connecting the industry with those interested in America’s housing needs. He works timelessly to demonstrate the affordability and attainability of the industries products to key political leaders, his ability to build relationships with individuals has helped the industries products being in the conversation about attainable housing solutions. Smith has held leadership positions with associations in multiple states as well as national level, including MHI chairman and 2023 flagship communities was awarded the community impact project of the retail sales center of the year and community operator of the year by MHI.

California retailer and manufactured housing advocate Todd Su has been in the industry for 27 years. During that time he and his wife Cindy have built one of the largest homes sales organizations in the state. Todd gives back to the industry. He provides services within the localities where he does business, he provides for residents in California communities donating backpacks for students, holding Easter egg hunts for the local youth crowd and making young people’s dreams come true through the make a wish foundation. He has even provided a new home for surviving victims of a home fire. Todd has won MHI’s retailer of the year award on five occasions. He has also been actively involved in local and state efforts to advance and support the MH industry through the California manufactured housing Institute.
